Piece Jacket

Scraps of linen and cottons from AP’s collection have been overdyed with natural plant extracts: indigo (jacket #2) and Rubia tinctorum madderroot (jacket #1). The patchworked scraps have been hand-quilted to a cotton fill, and imperfections in the old scraps have been mended with gold or silver thread. The linings and seam bindings are made from remnant viscose (#1), and linen/tencel/cupro (#2). The inside is hand sewn, and there are no visible seams. Snap closures are sewn into the front. The style is cropped in the body’s length and sleeves. Both were exhibited at Raw to a T, a sustainable fashion and textiles show, in 2022. AP’s mum Liz (expert and avid quilter) pieced #2 ♡

Jana (chest = 82cm) wears piece jackets #1 and #2. Both will fit bodies with a chest below 93cm, and hips below 98 cm. Please contact me if you would like more details on this sizing.

Piece Jacket #1 (madderroot, pinks)
width of body = 53 cm
length = 57 cm
neck to sleeve = 60.5 cm

Piece Jacket #2 (indigo, blues)

At the moment, this style is not made to order. I plan to make more of these in the future, in a wider size range. If you are interested in a jacket, please contact me, as it can be shaped to your desires.
